Tuvalu FAQs

Who can apply for a Tuvalu iGaming licence — do I need to have a company in Tuvalu?

Foreign companies can apply directly as the regime does not require a local entity, nor having a local director or a physical office in Tuvalu.
The licence is intended for international operators, which can be based outside of Tuvalu.

What compliance / regulatory requirements are imposed under the Tuvalu licence?

Operators must meet standard compliance standards, including “fit & proper” checks, AML/KYC procedures and responsible-gambling tools. There are also technical compliance standards in place, including RNG audits or fair-gaming certification if offering casino games.

Operators must declare domain ownership, platforms, and ensure transparency of operations, and B2B providers offering software or solutions, must ensure counterparties are licensed.

Does the licence grant rights to operate gambling services to customers in all countries?

No, there are certain jurisdictions which are restricted which the operator should be aware of. The Tuvalu license can target markets subject to their location regulations e.g. if a target country prohibits online gambling or requires local licensing, having a Tuvalu licence alone may not suffice.

Is the licence suitable for small operators or startups, or only for large, established firms?

The Tuvalu license can appeal to a broad range of igaming models due to its flexibility, wide market coverage, fast licensing process and low license fees.  It can be suitable for startups or smaller operators, B2B providers, or crypto-models, seeking to minimise cost and heavy infrastructure.
